Photographic Poetry – “A Short Story of Warming Light”

I feel a steady warmth alighting on my supple back

Its peaceful tendrils coaxing me to life as deep I drink its offered salve, my fast I’m breaking with the dawning of the morn

I turn around to live the day, my brothers ‘bout me focused as they face as one into the gift of sweet and warming light

Photographic Poetry – “A Short Story of Interstellar Travel”

Colorado Sunset

I ride my roller-coaster train from orb to orb across the vast expanse of cold, inviting space as I am hurtled forth to soon engage a painting bright and full of warming light and colors e’er intense and many hued to be received by matching eyes in many heads creating art or being used to paint a multi-facet piece of mastery of He who made the notion of creation and of beauty fair to see and feel and touch and smell, for Art of God is pleasure great and honor full, lo, here it comes, you’re soon to see my grand appearance, stay your hand, affix your eyes to be amazed and wonder at the beauty of explosions bright and filled with soaring majesty and wonderment to feel and know…

… now wait with quiet solitude and listen to the sight

A Better, Brighter Light

I step out of my door to see
Exploding colors bright
I thank my Father God above
For this amazing sight
With pallet large, and colors rich
My Lord shows off His art
The God of sunsets and the earth
To me His grace imparts

The calm caresses of the sun
Proclaim the waning day
I sit and marvel in its warmth
My thoughts all run astray
The clouds and light up high above
Make battle in the sky
Amazing sight, the sunset fair
Escaping as a sigh

And then its gone, the mighty orb
Oh great and awesome sight
And at its feet comes sliding in
The dark and lonely night
Oh warmest sun, oh brightest day
Wherever have you gone?
Why have you left me with the night
Why am I all alone?

The dark is cold and covers all
It muffles sight and sound
I cannot see the way I seek
The dark is all around
I fear that I am lost for good
Despair is creeping near
Without the light, this sleepless night
Is waking all my fears

It lasts so long, this waking night
When will it ever cease?
I want to see, I want to hope
When will I have some peace?
I have the moon, yes this is true
Most cold and lovely light
But I can’t with it see my way
I need a light more bright

But glory be, am I deceived
Do I perceive a ray?
A sign to me that hope is close
A herald of the day?
A second ray shoots out with force
A third, and then a forth
And then a host of rays ring out
A sight of priceless worth

The sun is back, the Light has come
I am no more alone
My way is clear before my feet
My steps the Light has shown
My God did not forget His son
And leave him in the Night
For after night a new day comes
A Better, Brighter Light
