This is for those of you (like me) who are Lost fanatics.

Art and Media Wednesday – Pixels

Interesting.  Colorful.  Imaginative.  Pixels.

Art and Media Wednesday – Libraries

From Oddee.com, some of the world’s most beautiful libraries.

I’ve been to the Long Room at Trinity College in Dublin, and the Library of Congress in Washington D.C.  Anyone else visited any of these others?

Art and Media Wednesday – Train Graffiti

I was stopped in line for a non-moving train this morning on my way to work and was able to spend time reflecting on the interesting art of train graffiti. Vandalism or not, there are some really cool examples of it out there.

Art and Media Wednesday – T-Shirt War

Rhett and Link are some of the most creative people and intertainers on YouTube (or the internet for that matter).  Their latest post, T-Shirt War is no exception.  Brilliant.

Art and Media Wednesday – Max McLean and The Screwtape Letters

What do you get when you add the Genius of C.S. Lewis and the Voice of Max McLean?

Pure Awesome.

Art and Media Wednesday – Mike Mitchell

Do you like weirdness?  Dark Humor?  Strange Comedy?  Conan O’Brian?  Than you’ll love the drawings of Mike Mitchell.

Art and Media Wednesday – Coldplay’s Strawberry Swing Music Video

This has got to be one of the more creative and amazing uses of stop-motion photography/videography and chalk I have ever seen.  Stunning.

Art and Media Wednesday – Cloudland

I cannot figure if Cloudland in Brisbane, Australia is more garden, more restaurant or more nightclub.  It appears to be all three and the result is absolutely beautiful.

Art and Media Wednesday – “The Wayfarer”, by Padraic Pearse

The Wayfarer
by Padraic Pearse

The beauty of the world hath made me sad,
This beauty that will pass;
Sometimes my heart hath shaken with great joy
To see a leaping squirrel in a tree,
Or a red lady-bird upon a stalk,
Or little rabbits in a field at evening,
Lit by a slanting sun,
Or some green hill where shadows drifted by
Some quiet hill where mountainy man hath sown
And soon would reap; near to the gate of Heaven;
Or children with bare feet upon the sands
Of some ebbed sea, or playing on the streets
Of little towns in Connacht,
Things young and happy.
And then my heart hath told me:
These will pass,
Will pass and change, will die and be no more,
Things bright and green, things young and happy;
And I have gone upon my way
Sorrowful.

Art and Media Wednesday – Lecrae and “The Ragamuffin Gospel”

I just finished reading Brennan Manning‘s book “The Ragamuffin Gospel” (which I hope to review in coming weeks) and also heard this song by Lecrae recently and it struck me that “Take Me As I Am” is in many ways Manning’s book rapped out.

But, you can judge for yourselves.

Art and Media Wednesday – Colm Mac Con Iomaire

If you have ever listened to The Frames or The Swell Season (Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová performed in the movie Once), you’ve probably heard the beautiful violin music of Colm Mac Con Iomaire.  Colm also has a solo record out (The Hare’s Corner) that is an absolutely lovely listen.

This is a performance of “Blue Shoes” he gave for TG4.  Beautiful.

Art and Media Wednesday – High Line Park

A rundown rail track + natural re-seeding of indigenous plants + great idea for a new greenway = High Line Park in New York City

This is a brilliant idea and a beautiful follow through.
